Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  • The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, or RTF document file format.
  • Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  • The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  • The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.

Business, Technology & Innovation Studies Journal (BTISJ)

 

  1. Scope and Aim of the Journal

The Business, Technology & Innovation Studies Journal (BTISJ) publishes high-quality, original research articles, case studies, conceptual papers, technical notes, and review papers focusing on business, management, technology, digital transformation, sustainability, innovation, and related interdisciplinary fields.

Submissions must demonstrate scholarly rigor, originality, relevance, and contribution to theory or practice.

 

  1. Manuscript Types Accepted

BTISJ accepts the following categories:

  • Original Research Articles (5,000–12,000 words)
  • Review Papers (4,000–9,000 words)
  • Conceptual Papers (4,000–8,000 words)
  • Case Studies / Practice Articles (3,000–7,000 words)
  • Short Communications / Technical Notes (1,500–4,000 words)
  • Book Reviews (1,000–2,000 words)

 

  1. Submission Requirements

3.1 Originality

  • Manuscripts must be original and not under review elsewhere.
  • Authors are responsible for ensuring the work is free of plagiarism.
  • Similarity index must be below 15%, excluding references.

3.2 Language

  • Manuscripts must be written in clear, academic English.
  • Authors may be asked to revise for grammar and clarity.

3.3 Formatting

All manuscripts must follow these guidelines:

  • File format: Microsoft Word (.doc or .docx)
  • Font: Times New Roman, 12 pt
  • Spacing: 1.5 line spacing
  • Margins: 1 inch (2.54 cm) on all sides
  • Page numbers: bottom right
  • Use standard headings (see Structure below)

 

  1. Manuscript Structure

4.1 Main Manuscript

Should include the following sections:

  1. Title (concise and descriptive)
  2. Abstract (150–250 words)
  3. Keywords (4–6 keywords)
  4. Introduction
  5. Literature Review / Background
  6. Methodology
  7. Results / Finding and Discussion
  8. Conclusion & Implications
  9. References (APA 7th Edition)

4.2 Tables and Figures

  • Must be embedded within the text close to their first citation.
  • Provide titles, labels, and sources (if applicable).
  • Figures should be high-resolution (300 dpi minimum).

4.3 Referencing Style

BTISJ uses APA 7th Edition.

 

  1. Ethical Considerations
  • All research involving humans must include an ethics approval statement (if required by institution).
  • Authors must disclose any conflicts of interest.
  • Authors must ensure correct citation of data, images, or materials used from external sources.

 

  1. Peer Review Process
  • BTISJ uses a double-blind peer review process.
  • Each manuscript is evaluated by at least two reviewers.
  • Review decisions include:
    • Accept
    • Minor Revision
    • Major Revision
    • Reject

Typical review time is 1–2 weeks.

 

  1. Publication Fees

Currently, BTISJ does not charge any submission or publication fees (APCs).

The journal is fully open access and supported by the editorial team.

 

  1. Copyright and Open Access Policy
  • Articles are published under a Creative Commons Attribution (CC BY 4.0) license.
  • Authors retain copyright.
  • The journal may distribute published articles for indexing and archiving.

 

  1. Submission Procedure

Authors must:

  1. Register or log in to the journal website
  2. Submit the manuscript through the online submission system
  3. Upload all required files:
    • Title page
    • Main manuscript (blinded)
    • Figures/Tables (if separate)
    • Supplementary materials (if any)
